![]() ![]() I read this book earlier this year and thought it was just okay (there were also some small things that annoyed me, but I understood them as a function of the main character) but I ended up thinking about the book every day for months. This book, to me, is a wonderful reminder of the resilience in all of us.Īnyways- curious to hear what you guys think. Things get better the longer you hold on- either your situation changes, or you do. It made me feel that the issues I struggle with are valid, and that all it takes to be alive, at the end of the day, is the will to persist. The nothingness and exhausted retreating reminded me of some of my own worst trips. My last thought is that this book is especially touching for people who have experienced depression before. Is it supposed to be reflection of the protagonist's metamorphosis, or was Reva just a figure whose purpose is to define our protagonist through contrast? What's your interpretation on their relationship? Overall, I enjoyed this unique story setup for its absorbing style and grim humor. ![]() I started and finished it this past Sunday and wow was that a weird trip.
